The Mazda Takeri Concept will get its European debut at Geneva 2012
The Mazda Takeri Concept – which previews the new Mazda 6 – gets its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Lots of new photos. It’s only a couple of months since we first saw the Mazda Takeri Concept – at the Tokyo Motor Show in December – and now Mazda are giving the Takeri a European outing with a debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The rise and rise of Hyundai (and Kia too) has lead to speculation for some time that the next stage in their evolution is a proper luxury brand to take on Infiniti and Lexus, and it’s now confirmed that Hyundai will be launching the ‘Genesis’ brand within two years. Not to be confused with the ‘Not for the UK’ Hyundai Genesis, the Genesis brand will be a range of cars from Hyundai offering real competition for the luxury brands from Nissan and Toyota, but with a dose of Hyundai pricing and warranty thrown in to the mix. Hyundai’s product manager in Australia – Roland Rivero - has come out and confirmed that the Genesis brand is in the making and will initially – at least in Australia – offer two RWD cars.
Land Rover has updated the Defender for 2013 with new colours, new premium seat design and upgraded in-car entertainment. The updates for the 2013 Land Rover defender may not be quite as radical, but in a car world that now expects a little more in the way of home comforts – even if you’re fording a stream or climbing a mountain – the new options are welcome. Land Rover has decided to offer a new range of contrast roof colours for the Defender, with the normal white option being extended to include Santorini Black, Indus Silver, Orkney Grey or Firenze Red and available on almost the whole of the Defender’s paint jobs.
